The BPS club shed and exhibitions also took the centre stage at today’s meeting, with the Civil administration maintaining its stand that the shed put up by the Club is illegal and permanent in nature.
The meeting also opposed the Amendment to the Goa Agricultural Tenancy Act with the City Fathers demanding a roll back.

Chairperson Gonzaco Rebello said the proposed parking lot opposite the KTC bus stand will have a provision for 522 four-wheelers and 464 four-wheelers, besides a lawn, pathway, drive way, car spa control room, ATMs, toilets and a guard room.
Meanwhile, the Council has approved the GSUDA proposal for permanent rehabilitation of the displaced kiosk owners. The GSUDA had proposed a multi-storey building to house the displaced kiosk owners, which in the past did not find favour with the owners. However, at today’s meeting, Chairperson Gonzaco said the Council will go ahead with the proposal as the plans has proposed to rehabilitate 78 owners on the ground floor, with a provision to rehabilitate another 78 owners on the first floor. It was decided to convert the first floor into shops in the event the kiosk owners are opposed to rehabilitation on that floor.
The BPS Club issue generated much heat wherein a section of City Fathers demanded to know whether the Civic body would raze down all temporary sheds in the city. Engineer Vishant Naik said the Council had issued permission for a temporary shed for the BPS club for sports activity, but which was subsequently used to hold exhibitions. As civic officials failed to produce the file at the meeting, Chief Officer Naveen said that all section heads should ensure that files relating to issues which will figure at the meeting are kept ready.
The Council has also approved the decision to build an overhead water tank at the Gandhi market to meet the water requirements in times of emergencies.
