BELGAUM: A navy officer from the Indian Navy’s Sea Bird at Karwar committed suicide at his quarters in Karwar early Saturday morning.
According to reports, Francis D’Costa (35) of Nandgad, about 50 kms from Belgaum, allegedly ended his life by hanging himself.
Lt D’Costa is survived by his parents, wife and two sons. According to information from family sources, Lt D’Costa was serving at Indian Navy’s Kochi base and at Nagapattanam for a brief period, before being recently promoted and transferred to Karwar.
The funeral will take place at Immaculate Conception Church, Nandgad, on Sunday.
