PANJIM: The North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA) has issued a stop work order to a 135-room hotel in Candolim, which it said had come up sans permissions.
The NGPDA order issued by Member Secretary N K Pandita says, the site inspection was carried out on July 14 and several illegalities were found.
“The site inspection revealed that illegal development is carried out by Clemetis Hotel, in survey no 116/15 & 117/11 & 12 in Bamon waddo, Calndolim,” the order states.
Pandita further says the construction is carried out without leaving proper setback and sans permissions. “Hence you are directed to stop the work immediately and show cause within seven days from the receipt of the notice why action under section 52 of Town & Country Planning Act, 1974 should not be initiated, namely for demolition of the above referred illegal development as provided under the section 52 of the Act,” the order states.
