The National Green Tribunal (NGT) Pune Bench has revised a demolition order concerning illegal constructions in Morjim, Goa. Originally issued broadly by the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA), the order has now been refined to apply strictly to structures within the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ).
The tribunal excluded portions of properties located outside the CRZ, offering partial relief to owners while upholding environmental safeguards. Authorities have been given 30 days to remove confirmed violations within the CRZ. The decision underscores the importance of enforcing environmental laws while respecting defined jurisdictional boundaries.
