Nilesh gets bail in Kamakshi case

MARGAO: Chief Judicial Magistrate Kalpana Gauns granted bail to Kamakshi Forex scam accused Nilesh Raikar after hearing the arguments of the victims’ lawyers and defence counsel.

Nilesh was granted bail on a bond worth Rs 5 lakh and two sureties of like amount.
While pronouncing the bail order, the court ordered him to surrender his passport and appear before the Economic Offences Cell every Tuesday and Friday.
The EOC reportedly received 900 complaints of people being duped by Kamakshi Forex. The victims claimed that they had been duped of nearly Rs 40 crore.
Meanwhile, the victims expressed displeasure over the granting of bail to Nilesh without having him deposit an amount of Rs 10 crore, which they have been asking through their counsels for quite some time.
“It looks like the government is not serious with this case,” claimed Cruz Cardozo.
“We will definitely appeal to higher appellate authority and challenge the order, as we feel that injustice has been done to the people,” said Jefila, one of the victims.
