Ex- GPSC?chief to face vigilance probe

PANJIM: Former Chairman of Goa Public Service Commission Prakash Desai failed to get immunity from the Goa Bench of Bombay High Court as it dismissed his petition challenging vigilance inquiry against him. Desai will thus face an inquiry instituted by the vigilance department into recruitments scam in the Commercial Taxes Department.
Desai had also tried applying for Chief Information Commissioner but stepped back after a local activist pointed out Supreme Court’s guidelines that mentions CIC has to be a retired high court justice. He had then tried for the post of State information Commissioner.
