With effect from December 28, the capital city will be kiosk-free with the Panjim city corporation shifting all kiosks to the new market complex.
As many as 80 kiosks vending in the city are proposed to be shifted from their existing place. This will also include all those kiosks which were recently cleared out by the corporation of alleged violations.
Sources have disclosed that the kiosk operations will now be organised on the first floor of phase II of the Panjim market.
The allotment space will be through draw of lots, in a bid to prevent any further controversies.
On Friday, Taleigao legislators Babush Monseratte personally inspected the Panjim market complex to assess the preparations for shifting the kiosks to the new market.
The CCP Mayor Tony Rodrigues and other corporators were also present.
