No more debris here

Permissions to construct will only be given once a PWD identified spot is identified to dispose construction debris

Ponda: The Ponda Municipal Council Chief Officer Navnath Naik has said the owner of any building who wishes to demolish and reconstruct will have to dispose the debris properly. It has also revealed that as the license issuing authority it was their responsibility to ensure this took place. They had now requested owners or contractors to not dispose debris in Council area, public place or government land thus making a nuisance for the public. He welcomed the HC order stating that it is for the welfare of local bodies. The chief officer said there was no construction debris located on the roadside or any other public area in the municipal jurisdiction. When asked how they intended to ensure this would continue, he said as per the Direction of Municipal Administration the Urban Local Bodies are directed to ensure that the construction debris are deposited at the notified sites by PWD. It has been also directed to clear all the construction debris in case   dumped in the Council area then it has to be cleared and deposited at notified sites by PWD. He said PWD had indentified such dumping site at Bethora.
