North Goa Youth Congress Chief Alleges Salon Used Expired Product, Seeks Action

Trevor Fernandes, President of the North Goa Youth Congress, has alleged that a popular salon in St Cruz used an expired product during a service he had availed, prompting him to seek medical treatment.

According to Fernandes, he visited the salon for a shave and head massage. He claimed that soon after the massage oil was applied, he began experiencing inflammation on his scalp along with a burning sensation in his eyes.

Fernandes said that when he questioned the salon manager about the product used, the bottle was checked and the expiry date was mentioned as March 2024. However, he alleged that the manager refused to acknowledge that the product was expired and instead maintained that the date indicated was the manufacturing date.

Following the incident, Fernandes said he approached Goa Medical College (GMC) for medical attention.

He has urged the concerned authorities to investigate the matter and take appropriate action against the salon if any violations are found, stressing the need for strict monitoring to ensure customer safety.
