MARGAO: Margao Municipal Council has made available various study materials for Std X and XII students and also the preparatory material for Goa Civil Services Examinations. MMC has also made free Wi-Fi available for the students.
The MMC library now boasts of having the Model Question Paper for students in Science, Arts & Commerce of Goa Board as well as CBSE Board. Sample question papers and reading reference material for preparatory exams for Goa Civil Services by GPSC will be made available.
The services were inaugurated by the Chairperson of MMC Pooja Naik in presence of the Chief Officer Ajit Panchwadkar and several other Councillors.
The Chief Officer of MMC Ajit Panchwadkar said, “The students from middle and lower economic classes don’t have access to the information which forms education and knowledge for the youth and students.” The MMC has requested the students as well as the parents to come to the library and take benefit of the facilities.
MMC chairperson Pooja Naik said, “This is the first time that something of this sort has been started by the Municipality and I thank the Chief Officer for the initiative. The rich parents can arrange anything for their children but it’s not the same with the poor parents and students. I feel that the facilities we have started today will go a long way in helping the students who don’t have access to these facilities.”
