VALPOI: After affecting the rural villages in Sattari, the problem of water shortage has now hit the Valpoi municipal areas.
“There is the acute water shortage in many wards in Valpoi, for the last eight days. In rural areas, people utilise the river and spring water for washing and bathing, and also for cooking food. However, in urban area that is not possible,” said a local.
According to locals, the main pipeline supplying water to Valpoi town was laid during the Portuguese rule, as such it needs replacement.
The assistant water engineer has assured to lay a new pipeline for supplying water to Valpoi town.
