I would rather be a mango tree than a banyan tree, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said responding to a letter from Dr Oscar Rebello who praised the redeveloped area and called it to be a banyan tree which shelters all kinds of life.
“I would rather be a mango tree than a banyan tree, not because of aam aadmi, but because nothing grows under a banyan tree and neither does it bear any fruit. But a mango tree which bears a lot of fruit, and which is why it receives a lot of stones,” Parrikar said.

“It is those who are disturbed because corruption has gone down, that they are pelting stones,” Parrikar said.
“I need not say who pushed the father of the Vasco-rape victim girl to go on a hunger strike; It is the same person who later offered him limbu paani,” Parrikar said.
