PANJIM: With the market price of onions coming down, Goa State Horticulture Corporation Limited (GSHCL) has further reduced rates at its outlets and mobile vans across Goa. Onions will be sold at Rs 33 per kg from Thursday.
Speaking to Herald, GSHCL Chairman Kiran Kandolkar said the price at the corporation’s outlets and mobile vans will be further reduced.
“Since the rate of onions has come down to Rs 58-60 per kg as of today (Wednesday), we have also reduced the price to Rs 33 per kg which will be sold from Thursday,” he said.
He said the information has been disbursed to ensure customers are not cheated. GSHCL mobile vans have been selling onions at Rs 40 per kg while the outlets sold it at Rs 49 per kg even when the rates in the open market touched Rs 75 per kg.
On Wednesday, GSHCL outlets sold onions at Rs 43 per kg while in the market onions were selling at around Rs 60 per kg.
