The opposition on Friday demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the Birch fire incident, calling for a thorough and independent probe to establish accountability in the case.
Senior Congress leader Alemao said that the truth must come out through an impartial investigation and asserted that no one should be spared if found responsible, irrespective of their political position. He stressed that if the role of any MLA or minister is established during the probe, strict action must be taken.
“The people deserve to know the truth. An independent agency like the CBI should investigate the matter so that accountability is fixed and justice is ensured,” Alemao said.
The opposition maintained that only a CBI inquiry would ensure transparency and prevent any attempt to shield influential individuals allegedly involved in the incident.
