PANJIM: Goa Children’s Court heard final arguments in the anticipatory bail application filed by 48 mining dependent who were summoned by Panjim Police and reserved its order for Wednesday.
Panjim Police have identified 59 of the mining dependents who had paralyzed the State’s capital on March 19 for almost five hours and summoned them to depose before the investigation officer. However, 48 of them have applied for anticipatory in the Court anticipating arrest in the offence.
Ppposing the bail application Panjim Police submitted in court that the protesters had blocked the road for over five hours at Kranti circle that has led to the inconvenience and harassment to the lot of students who were appearing for the board exams. Police also submitted that due to agitation of agitators, many minor students were harassed.
The mining dependents had initially filed the anticipatory bail pleas before the Sessions Court Panjim, but as sections of the Goa Children’s Act were added the pleas were transferred to the Goa Children’s Court.
