Parts of Keri without water, power for four days

VALPOI: Many parts of Keri, Sattari are without electricity for four days after cyclonic winds snapped power lines. Angry locals claimed the electricity department was resolving the issue at snail’s pace and their taps had run dry as a result. They also blasted the government for not taking the issue seriously.

“The power supply problem is mainly due to the electricity line running through the forest. Many times the panchayat took a resolution to shift the line, but nothing has been done so far. At many places this line is touching trees, resulting in frequent power failures,” said panch member Ganu Gawas.
Regarding the water issues, locals informed that they had to use water from open wells, which were far away from their localities. They demanded the authorities to speed up the repair works and also resolve their water problems.
