Recently the compound wall of the building society collapsed due to the blocked drains and locals had urged the authorities to rectify the matter soon before vector borne diseases spread in the area.
There were more than 5 cases of malaria in Navelim two weeks ago. Curtorim health centre officials stated that they are monitoring the situation.
Precautionary measures have already been intiated in the areas where the cases of viral infections were reported.
