VASCO: Offshore patrol vessel (OPV) ‘ICGS Shaurya’ built on Goa Shipyard Limited’s (GSL) in-house design was delivered to the Indian Coast Guards (ICG), recently.
This is the fifth vessel of this class to be delivered to the Coast Guards. In past, a vessel of this class was delivered by GSL some 32 days ahead of contractual schedule, earning a unique distinction for delivering all five CGOPVs, ahead of contractual schedule in a row.
The OPV was handed over by S P Raikar Director (operations), GSL to DIG D S Chauhan, Commanding Officer (YD 1222) in the presence of DIG H P Singh, Principal Director (MAT) Indian Coast Guard and DIG Atul Parlikar, TM CGRPS (Goa) in a simple ceremony held at Goa Shipyard Limited.
