VASCO: A video of one person allegedly buying food grains from a fair price shop in a black market went viral on social media, on Monday.

The Goa First, an NGO based in Mormugao, complaint to the Civil Supply Department highlighting this malpractice and demanded an audit of all fair price shops across Goa.
The NGO also demanded strict action on those involved in black marketing of the essential food items from these fair price shops.
Parshuram Sonurlekar complaint against the Mormugao-based civil supply fair price shop for allegedly black marketing food grains to the wholesalers in Mormugao Taluka.
The alleged incident occurred on Monday morning wherein a person is seen loading two to three sacks, suspected to be filled with the food grains from the fair price shop on his scooter in the video.
“When inquired with the person on the scooter, he revealed that he has purchased the food grains from the fair price shop without a ration card and money will be paid to the owner,” Sonurlekar stated.
Sonurlekar claimed that the fair price shops are opened by the government to support the needy and not to do black marketing.
Goa First has demanded that an audit should happen of all fair price shops to get an accountability of whether the food grains which are meant to the needy people are reaching them or not.
He also demanded that strict action has to be taken by the government against the people indulging in black marketing of food grains at fair price shops across Goa.
