According the complainant, a temple is located downhill and within the temple compound there is a natural water spring. If residential plots are developed uphill, the complainant fears, the spring could dry up. The local panchayat and the temple committee are reportedly opposing the project.
The flying squad reportedly inspected the development and is yet to forward the inspection report to the panchayat.
Sources said that the landowner reportedly filed an application seeking an NOC from the panchayat for constructing a road to access agricultural lands. However, no NOC was issued for development of the plots, sources said.
The property which is being developed into residential plots, sources who accessed the sale deeds say, has been sold to 40 persons.
The sarpanch was, reportedly, not aware of development project; as such, on receiving the complaint, the sarpanch as well as all the panchas inspected the development site.
