Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address three crucial election rallies in Assam on Monday as part of the BJP’s campaign for the April 9 assembly elections. His first stop will be at Bhabanipur–Sorbhog in Barpeta district, where he will seek support for Minister Ranjeet Kumar Das. Modi will then move to Hojai in central Assam to campaign for BJP candidate Shiladitya Dev before concluding the day with a rally in Dibrugarh, backing minister Prasanta Phukan.This will be the prime minister’s second visit to Assam during the current election season. Earlier, on April 1, he held public meetings in Gogamukh and Behali and interacted with women tea garden workers in Dibrugarh—an outreach that the BJP hopes will strengthen its support base among women voters.With campaigning set to end on Wednesday, political parties are pushing hard in the final stretch. Elections for all 126 assembly seats will take place on April 9, and counting is scheduled for May 4. The BJP is aiming to consolidate its position in the state, while the opposition is attempting to rally support amid intense competition.
