Portal to apply for birth teor launched

Birth and death records from 1914 to 1970 scanned and digitised

PORVORIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday launched the e-Teor module under the Goa online services portal which will allow online applications for issue and correction of birth teor. Also, all physical records pertaining to births and deaths from 1914 to 1970 have been scanned and digitised with their updates until June 30, 2006.
“Those people who were saying that they are not getting the old teor, they have now been uploaded online worldwide. In case of missing ones they will have come forward for re-construction. In five talakas if you want to authenticate, an application can be made online and by January 26, it will be available in all 12 talukas,” Parrikar said on the sidelines of a government function.
Goa Electronic Limited (GEL), Project Manager Vitobha Sawant said that under the e-Teor module, people who want to get a birth/death record will have to register themselves on www.goaonline.gov.in by providing basic information like name, address, mobile no, date of birth, email id. 
“Tracing old records is very time consuming, with launch of e-Teor, people will able to view and download a non-certified birth teor copy without a need to visit Civil Registrar cum Sub Registrar office,” he said.
He further said that if a person wants to obtain a certified copy of birth/death record or to make correction in birth/death record citizen will have to submit the application form online after which the citizen will be intimated and the acknowledgment will be sent via SMS.
