The recently launched Pro Active Risk Identification and Surveillance Mechanism (PRISM) is significantly enhancing the crime detection and investigative capabilities of the Goa Police, officials said.
By analysing technical and digital data, PRISM recently played a crucial role in cracking a drugs-related case, leading to the arrest of the second accused. The system also assisted investigators in identifying those involved in the assault on a foreign national in Canacona.
Senior police officers said PRISM enables real-time analysis of data patterns, helping investigators connect critical links, track suspects and strengthen evidence collection. The mechanism is designed to proactively identify risks, monitor suspicious activity and improve overall policing efficiency.
Officials added that the success of PRISM in these cases highlights its potential to become a powerful tool in tackling organised crime, narcotics offences and other serious crimes across the state.
Goa Police plan to further expand the use of PRISM across police stations and specialised units to ensure faster detection, better coordination and improved public safety.
