CURCHOREM: The float ‘Purvoz Goykar’ won the first prize in the traditional category at the Carnival parade organized by Centro Social Anjo Custodio (CSAC) in association with Goa Tourism and Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council (CCMC).
‘Goemchim Follam’ and ‘Adlem Goem’ bagged the second and third prizes respectively while in the Club category, ‘Stop bull fight’, ‘Swach Bharat’ and ‘Say no to drugs’ were awarded the first, second and third prizes respectively.
In the family category, the floats ‘Fisherman’s family’ (first), ‘Honey Bee’ (second) and ‘Happy Family’ (third) were awarded the prizes.
In the clown category, ‘Adlo Xetcar’ (first), ‘Statue of King’ (second) and ‘Save girl child’ (third) were the prize winners, while in the Fun/Junk category, prizes were awarded to ‘A Call from Mummies’ (first), ‘Protect Environment’ (second) and ‘Egypt Mummy’ (third).
Around 66 floats participated in the carnival parade, which was flagged off by Goa Infotech Corporation Chairman and Sanguem MLA Subash Phal Dessai.
