PANJIM: In order to extend the benefits of Bal Rath scheme to a larger number of schools in Goa, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday said that private buses could be provided on contract basis, in case buses proved insufficient.
Parrikar said that government is contemplating on making modifications in the Bal Rath scheme, according to which buses would be used on contract basis.
Chief Minister said that government has given orders for purchase of additional 100 buses under the scheme, which would be delivered shortly, but if demand increases then government will hire private buses, which would be paid a fixed rate per km.
