PWD Demolishes Fence Linked to Lairai Jatra Stampede on North Goa Collector’s Orders

In the aftermath of last year’s tragic Lairai Jatra stampede, the fence allegedly linked to the mishap is being demolished by the Public Works Department (PWD), Bicholim Division, following directions issued by the North Goa Collector.

The annual Lairai Jatra, held at Shirgao, had witnessed a stampede that raised serious concerns over crowd management and safety arrangements.
