The PWD work near Baga-Arpora creek is posing a serious threat to life and property of the motorists.
It may be recalled that recently, PWD (works division) had carried out road widening works along the Baga-Arpora creek road. However, the culvert constructed in front of the beauty parlour near Baga Bridge is posing a serious threat to life and property.
The culvert has been improperly done, leaving a huge gap between the original road and newly laid concrete slab. The wide gap between the two joints is posing a serious threat to life and property of the motorists proceeding to and fro Baga beach.
Few days ago, an outstation jeep landed in the hole at night, but luckily nothing serious took place.
Speaking to Herald, Seby of Arpora said: “At least during the day, one can see the hole but at night it is very dangerous. Anyone, especially a tourist riding a two-wheeler, can land in trouble at the dreaded spot.”
Efforts to contact the contractor proved futile. However, the labourers were unable to provide any contact details of the contractor.
