CUNCOLIM: Quepem Municipal Council (QMC) accepted the challenge to deliver essential goods to the people of Quepem. On Wednesday, the council sold over 350 packets of food grains.
The council also followed the social distancing norms during the distribution of such items.
QMC Chairperson Dayesh Naik said they had begun this system with the support of Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Kavlekar. He added that they will supply food items to every household through a volunteer network.
It is to be noted that the above took place earlier in the day, before the State government announced on Thursday night, that grocery and other stores supplying essential goods will remain open 24/7.
