Quepem man held with drugs worth Rs 2.7 lakh

PANJIM: Anti-Narcotics Cell sleuths on Monday arrested Quepem resident Anton Marline for possessing party drug worth Rs 2.7 lakh. Marline, 37 and resident of Devulmol, was caught with 54 grams of amphetamine from an apartment in Carmona.

It is learnt that the drug was purchased from a local peddler for personal consumption. Sources said the man has also been frequenting the beach belt. 
“He is a drug abuser and peddler, as well. Investigations are on to unearth more details,” an officer said.
Anti-Narcotics Cell  has conducted nearly a dozen raids this year leading to the arrests of locals and foreign nationals including Nigerians, Italians and Israelis, with a cocktail of drugs worth crores of rupees.
