The rally will commence from the Cancolim Primary Health Centre at 10 am and will culminate at the Candolim market. The villagers have sought co-operation and security of Calangute police for the peaceful march.
The villagers have decided to stage the peaceful rally after expressing unhappiness that migrant labourers have been charging as high as Rs 800 per day along the Candolim coast.
The villagers have submitted a memorandum to Labour Minister Avertano Furtado stating that the migrant labourers have been charging for services ranging from Rs 500-600 per day basis though the wages as per the government rules is Rs 215 per day.
The villagers of Candolim have requested the labour minister to decide and take steps to ensure harmonybetween the villagers and labourers.
