Reginaldo hopes on Parrikar for additional land at Dabolim

Exuding confidence that Manohar Parrikar will do justice to his new job at the Centre and make Goa proud, Congress MLA Reginaldo Lourenco has said that Goans will not spare Parrikar if he fails to use his good office once he joins the Union Cabinet, to release a substantial area from the Indian Navy to the Airport Authority of India, to fulfil the dreams of Goans to have a world class international airport at Dabolim without the need for another airport at Mopa.

“The day for which Goans were eagerly awaiting towards move of Manohar Parrikar to New Delhi has finally dawned. Certainly, he will need time to change from his offensive style of functioning to the defensive job in New Delhi,” he said.
Lourenco said the Deputy Chief Minister, Francisco D’Souza is the natural claimant to the office of Chief Minister once it falls vacant. “He has all the credentials to be one of the best chief ministers of Goa, which opportunity should not be denied to him. But, in all likelihood, the RSS which has a tremendous control over the BJP and its parliamentary Board may intervene to sideline D’Souza for obvious reasons,” he said.
The Curtorim MLA said it is premature to come to any conclusion for the moment except to wait and watch for the BJP to reveal its true colours to Goans and the nation at large.
