PANJIM: The fishermen and trawler operators on Friday submitted a memorandum to the State government over non-release of petrol subsidies and outboard subsidies to them since 2017.
All Goa Small Scale Responsible Fisheries Union (Agssrfu) has submitted memorandum to Minister for Fisheries Filipe Neri Rodrigues and Directorate of Fisheries demanding immediate release of pending subsidy to fishermen.

In the memorandum, they have stated that petrol subsidies have not been disbursed to fishermen since 2017.
It also stated that subsidies sanctioned for outboard motors on canoes have also not been released.
They said that while the fishermen had submitted forms for the subsidy for financial year 2017-18, the department, thereafter did not made the applications available to apply for the benefit.
