VASCO: Religion and Politics are two things which should not be mixed up. Why pilgrimage places of minority communities are not included in the pilgrimage trip, questioned Congress Minority Cell President Nazir Khan, on Mondday.

Khan said that the pilgrimage activity should not be part of political campaign by any political party and questioned why Muslims and Sikhs are left out in the pilgrimage packages and their pilgrimage sites not included in the Pilgrimage Dev Darshan package announced by the BJP government.
Khan said, “Trips to various pilgrimage places was supposed to be flagged off on December 1, as per the scheme, which the government had promised the people. But till date that trips never happened. The government should not fool people my making such promises and then not fulfilling it.”
He opined that the religion and politics which are two things should not be mixed up.
“Whoever wants to visit pilgrimage places should spend their own money and go. Why the government should spend money on these pilgrimages,” he questioned.
Khan also questioned as to why certain pilgrimage places of minority community were not included in the trip.
He urged BJP Minority Cell leader Urfan Mullah to question about this matter to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
