In a press statement issued on the eve of panchayat meeting, forum President Socorro Miranda said, “After conducting a series of corner meetings, the villagers are of the opinion that they should no longer have any hope and faith in the panchayat and the government in matter related to the Rahejas.”
It is said that the villagers are in the process of compiling a dossier to expose the irregularities done by the government while granting approvals to the project. The villagers, therefore, have decided to attend the panchayat meeting on Thursday in large numbers to hold a dharna till the time the body decides to revoke the licence issued to Rahejas.
If worse come to worst, the people ready to even have a jail bharo andolan to achieve their objective, added Miranda.
