Rs 130 crore investment scam: EOC raids office at Fatorda, finds it empty

PANJIM: The Economic Offence Cell (EOC) of the Goa police searched the office registered in the name of Idyllic Goa Gateways and Developments Private Limited at Fatorda only to find it empty. The employees and the infrastructure set up had just disappeared.

The search was with regards to the Rs 130 crore investment scam in Salcete.

“The Investigating Officer (IO) obtained a search warrant from the Judicial Magistrate First Class C Court, Margao in respect of Shop/Office No.7, Reliance Magnum Building, Opp KTC Bus Stand, Fatorda registered in the name of Idyllic Goa Gateways and Developments Private Limited and PSI Paresh Ramnathkar along with staff raided the office and found it was empty,” a statement from the police said.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had stated that the Rs 130 crore scam being investigated by the Economic Offences Cell (EOC) of the Goa Police is the biggest scam in the State, with connections spanning from ‘Fatorda to London’.

Goa Forward Party (GFP) president and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai had welcomed Chief Minister’s commitment to unravelling the investment scam and arresting the accused in London.
