The cigarettes were confiscated from a transporting rickshaw at Margao, driven by one Mohamed Wasim and owned by his brother-in-law Dastgiri Sayyed. The imported cigarettes were reportedly transported from Hubbali to be sold at Margao.
The seized packets did not bear any specified health warning as stipulated under the Act and amended Rules.
