CURCHOREM: Curchorem police on Wednesday arrested a 30-year-old Imtiaz Sunkar, resident of Gandhi Nagar, Sanvordem on charges of rape.
According to PI Somnath Mahajik, a woman from Sanvordem complained against the accused stating that he forcefully sexually exploited her without her consent on several occasions at various places in Curchorem and Sanvordem by threatening her.
“The accused has been arrested Under Sections 376 and 506 (II) of IPC and will be produced before Quepem Court on Thursday for police remand,” Police Inspector Somnath Mahajik said and added that further investigation will be conducted by PSI Girendra Naik.
