A scooter rider was injured, while his wife escaped unhurt, after the scooter in which they were traveling was knocked down by a bus near Verem market on Wednesday at about 1.45 pm.
According to Porvorim Police, the accident occurred when the Activa scooter (GA-03-E-1011) in which rider Rama Nagveker (48) along with his wife were traveling, was knocked down by a bus (GA-03-T-7395), which was proceeding from Panjim towards Calangute.
Rama and his wife were proceeding towards Panjim. Rama sustained head injuries and was admitted to GMC Hospital in Bambolim for treatment. Police has registered an offence against the bus driver for negligent driving. Head Constable K B Sawant is investigating the case.
