MARGAO: In an accident at Shirvodem a senior journalist of a local daily was seriously injured.
Prashant Shetye working for the Gomantak Marathi daily was grievously injured after a head on collision with another two-wheeler. Surprisingly, the Hospicio hospital which is the only government facility for casualties had ambulances but no drivers to shift the journalist to GMC even after waiting for around 90 minutes.
The accident took place around 9.45 pm when Prashant left his office and was heading home. The 108 ambulance picked Prashant from the accident spot and shifted him to the Hospicio where his wounds were dressed up. However, it took Hospicio staff over one-and-a-half hour to locate a driver to shift Prashant to GMC.
