The order points out that taxi operators many of whom are land losers from Pernem taluka, Mopa, Varkhand, Nagzar and Chandel are protesting under the banner of ‘Together for Pednekars’ demanding that they may be given first preference to register their taxis as Yellow Black Taxis and a separate counter at Mopa airport and not to allow Ola and Uber Taxis to ply from the airport.

The Collector said that as per the information received from SP North, the protest is likely to affect the traffic and law and order situation on the airport route.

The taxi operators have called for a bandh in and around the airport and to block the road if their demand to notify a counter for their taxis is not met as promised.
