Seminar on valuation held

MARGAO: One-day seminar on “Contemporary Valuation Scenario” was inaugurated by Power Minister Nilesh Cabral in the Conference Hall of Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, on Saturday. 
The seminar is part of the three-day International Valuation Standard Training on organised by The Institution of Valuers (IOV), Goa Branch, in association with The Institution of Valuers — Registered Valuers Foundation (IOV-RVF) Delhi.
Cabral expressed that Valuers can play a major and active role in Valuation of Lands in Goa which can be used for government records and Stamp duty purpose.
“The Government is working on New Minimum Guidelines rates 2020 for stamp duty and other official purposes and till then, the government has notified an interim solution by notifying increase of 20 per cent to the existing minimum Guidelines rates notified in 2013 and also working on to give 5 per cent increase every year till Govt comes out with new rates in 2020,” he said.
Chief Town Planner James Mathew stated that valuation is a key subject with respect to planning of the land use. He informed that in Maharashtra they have Town and Country Planning and Valuation Department as Planning and valuation goes hand in hand. 
He also highlighted the need of valuation for land acquisition, TDR and other purposes for government. Vinay Goel, MD and CEO of IOV-RVF Delhi, congratulated organiser IOV — Goa Branch, especially Thomas D’Costa, for organising the event.
He informed that IOV-RVF is working hard to provide International Valuation Training to all valuers so that valuation report prepared by them as per International standards.
The event will help the valuers to update and upgrade their knowledge with new and latest methods used in the field of valuation. Around 120 attended the seminar.
