PANJIM: The JMFC Panjim has issued show cause notices to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, SP CID Om Prakash Kurtarkar, DySP CID, Nilu Raut Desai, and PI CID Suresh Gaokar returnable on January 8 on a contempt petition on citizenship issue.
The petitioners have asked the court for an order to initiate proceedings against the respondents “to inquire into acts of contempt of the respondents and further after such inquiry to make reference of the same to the … High Court of Bombay at Goa for action including suitable punishment to be taken to such acts that constitute contempt of court in accordance with the law.”
In an earlier order, the petitioners have said, that the JMFC court had issued an order (23/10/2013) directing the PI (CID) to register an FIR against MLAs Glen Ticlo, Caitu Silva, SP Allen de Sa and PI Edwin Colaco under various sections of the IPC and various sections of the Representation of Peoples Act, Registration of foreigners act , Passport act and submit a report within 30 days of receipt of the order.
