MARGAO: The Goa Government Employees Association has told Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar that the entire South Goa Collectorate staff will hold a protest dharna if the services of the District Collector, N D Agrawal are continued beyond January 31.
In a letter to the CM Association President M L Shetkar said the Collectorate staff had earlier decided to publicly protest against the District Collector from January 24 onwards, but they postponed the democratic agitation after the Assembly Session to give sufficient time to the government to shunt out Agrawal from service.
Incidentally, Shetkar maintained that the district Collector told a GGEA delegation when it called on him that he doesn’t want to continue in office. “We request you to relieve Agrawal before February 1, 2013, and avoid the staff from openly protesting against the Collector and ultimately the state government,” the letter addressed to the Chief Minister stated.
