PANJIM: A day after two members of a fisherman family in Mangor tested positive, six more tested positive – including four members of the same family and two close neighbours.
However, there was also some good news on Tuesday, as 13 positive patients tested negative bringing the total number of active cases to 22.

Health Secretary Nila Mohanan said that the four members of the family and two close neighbours tested positive. She added that the doctor, who was found positive on the TrueNAT test, has tested negative in RTPCR test.
“Following the positive cases we have declared Mangor Hill as a containment zone. Today around 200 samples were taken surrounding the focal point,” she said. The focus said that the area will be expanded further.
“We have covered the high risk category of people like expecting mothers, those with co-morbidities and elderly people. The tests will keep going on tomorrow. The results of the tests will come later in the night,” she added.
Asked how many persons the government plans to test in the area, she said, “We are looking at 1,700 people around the houses for testing.”
She further said that the three suspected cases from Verla Canca, who were found positive in TrueNAT testing have tested negative in RTPCR test. “There were rumours of them absconding, but let me clarify they were under institution quarantine,” she said.
