CANACONA: Work on six major projects estimated at about Rs 70 crore will finally commence in Canacona, to mark the completion of BJP's 16 months of governance in the State.

CANACONA: Work on six major projects estimated at about Rs 70 crore will finally commence in Canacona, to mark the completion of BJP’s 16 months of governance in the State.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar along with Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar will lay the foundation stones for the six projects in Canacona taluka on Saturday, which also marks the birthday of Tawadkar.
Announcing this at a specially convened press conference on Wednesday evening, Canacona BJP Block President Mahesh Naik said the foundation stones will be laid for the Sports Complex at Shristhal (Rs 1.56 crore), a sports complex at Karvem-Gaondongrim (Rs 2 crore), underground electrical cabling works at Nadkem (Cotigao), a residential school building at Adarsh-Gram, Amone (Rs 23 crore), an indoor stadium at Shri Gaitonde Ground, Chaudi (Rs 6.35 crore) and a Ravindra Bhavan at Chaudi (Rs 36 crore).
BJP leaders informed that birthday boy, Tawadkar, will begin the day by inaugurating the newly renovated Poinguinim village Panchayat building (Rs 8.2 lakh), while he will distribute electrical fixtures to all panchayats in Canacona taluka at a function in Yeda-Cotigao.
Besides, 10 school teachers and around 20 SSC and HSSC meritorious students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya will be felicitated at a function which will coincide with a cultural programme at Ruby Residency complex, Chaudi on Saturday evening.
