MARGAO: Demanding that the government immediately restart mining in the State, South Goa Member of Parliament Francisco Sardinha on Wednesday sought an immediate resolution to the Mhadei issue as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ruling in Goa, Karnataka and also at the Centre.
Briefing media persons, the MP said Goa has been suffering for the past 9 years since mining stopped following allegations by former CM late Manohar Parrikar and added that people have lost their jobs and livelihood and are living in misery at the moment.
“The BJP government that was formed in Goa by usurping Congress MLAs should now take up the matter with their party leaders in Delhi and restart mining in Goa at the earliest,” he said.
Mhadei Diversion: The MP demanded immediate resolution of the Mhadei water diversion issue especially as the three governments at Goa, Karnataka and Centre are of the Bharatiya Janata Party. “Since all belong to the same party they can discuss and settle the matter once and for all,” he said.
