MARGAO: South Goa district police chief, Vijay Singh, held a joint meeting with representatives of various hotels, security personnel representatives from five-star hotels, South Goa Tourist Taxi Owners, rent a car and bike representatives and tour operators from south Goa on Wednesday.
The meeting was also attended by Margao DySP Mohan Naik, Margao PI Sudesh Naik and Colva PI Uttam Raut Dessai. DySP Naik informed that the meeting had been convened to sort out various issues affecting those in the trade/business with special emphasis on maintenance of law and order.
It may be noted that during the current tourist season unrest was witnessed among tourist taxi operators and tour operators with chief minister Manohar Parrikar having held meeting with both sections to bring about a solution to the problem.
It was informed that a flying squad consisting of officers from RTO, local police, traffic cell and FRO has been constituted to resolve grievances that may arise among those in the business.
It was also informed that a helpline has been put in place with number 7875756188 for public convenience in event of any problem.
