Speaker Accepts Apology in Mirabag Protest Case but Maintains Entry Ban to Uphold House Dignity

Amid the controversy surrounding the Mirabag Bandara Project protests, Speaker Ganesh Gaonkar informed the Goa Legislative Assembly that the matter had been discussed with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for a comprehensive review.

Addressing the House, the Speaker said the Chair had consulted the Chief Minister to examine the issue in its entirety and take appropriate action.

Gaonkar further stated that the individuals involved had submitted an unconditional apology, which has been accepted by the Chair. However, he clarified that in order to uphold the dignity of the House, the restriction on the entry of the concerned persons into the Assembly premises will continue.
