CANACONA: Following Margao court verdict, issuing directions to frame charge sheet against nine people, including Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar, in the Balli agitation, Congress demanded that now is the time for the minister to introspect and withstand to hold the moral dignity of the post he is holding.
Congress spokesperson and last assembly elections defeated Congress candidate in Canacona constituency Isidore Fernandes said: “If he holds the moral dignity of the post he is holding, Tawadkar should resign rather than wait for pressure to build up for demands of his ouster.”
“Going by the recent developments, I don’t think a court directing to file a charge sheet against a minister will make any difference to the present government and the minister concerned will be allowed to continue in any case,” Fernandes told Herald.
Fernandes, however, reasoned by putting forth his personal opinion adding “Chargesheet doesn’t mean proven guilty and unless proven none can be considered guilty.”
