St Cruz murder convict appeals against life sentence

PANJIM: Norman Fernandes, convicted in a double murder at St Cruz, and facing life imprisonment has appealed in the High Court of Bombay at Goa.

PANJIM: Norman Fernandes, convicted in a double murder at St Cruz, and facing life imprisonment has appealed in the High Court of Bombay at Goa.
North Goa District and Sessions Court in April 2016 had convicted and sentenced Norman, in the sensational St Cruz double murder case. 
Norman was convicted of killing his sister Noreen Fernandes e Vaz and her mother-in-law Aurita Anes e Vaz, and attempting to kill his sister’s husband Edgar Vaz. The crime that played out at the Vaz residence on September 2, 2013 was over a property dispute. 
District sessions judge, B P Deshpande, had convicted Fernandes under Sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), and 452 (house trespass) of the Indian Penal Code.
